Samantha shares a little history behind our name: The ancient Greeks crowned their gifted poets and athletes with laurel branches to celebrate their accomplishments, as we hope to celebrate you and your accomplishments here. When my mom homeschooled me, she had to register the name of her school with the state: we became “Laurel Academy.” Laurel Academics is an homage to my mom's teaching and her impact on my love of learning.
